Who we are

Learn Tamil is a language-learning app for Sri Lankan Tamil (Jaffna dialect), made by Thilip C. Lindseth, Norway, who is the data controller. Contact: support@nitiden.no.

What we collect and why

We do not collect location, contacts, photos, advertising identifiers, or analytics about your behaviour outside the app. We do not sell or share personal data with advertisers. There are no ads in the app.

Word audio is generated in advance with Microsoft Azure text-to-speech and downloaded from our storage; nothing you say or type is sent to Microsoft.

Reminders

Daily reminders are local notifications scheduled on your phone; no push server is involved.

Purchases

Subscriptions are sold and billed by Apple through the App Store. RevenueCat, Inc. processes the purchase receipt for us under a data processing agreement; transfers to the USA rely on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. We never see your payment details.

Reviewers

If you are a content reviewer, your approvals, edits and rejections are stored with your account so we can trace content decisions.

Legal basis (GDPR)

Performance of the contract with you (providing the app and Pro) for account, progress and purchase data; legitimate interest for crash reports.

Retention

Your data is kept while your account exists. Delete your account in Settings or by emailing support@nitiden.no; everything tied to your account in our database is deleted at once, and on request within 30 days. Purchase records are kept by Apple and RevenueCat as tax law requires. Crash reports are kept for 90 days.

Your rights

You can access, correct, export or delete your data by contacting support@nitiden.no. You may complain to Datatilsynet (the Norwegian Data Protection Authority).

Children

The app is for learners of all ages, but accounts must be created by someone aged 13 or older. Parents may create an account for a child.

Changes

We will post changes here and show a notice in the app for material changes.
